PYSCHOTHERAPEUTIC REIKI

A Soulful Integration of Energy and Emotional Healing

Psychotherapeutic Reiki blends the insight and emotional processing of psychotherapy with the nervous system regulation and subtle healing of Reiki. This integrative approach is especially beneficial in trauma work, where pain often lives not only in the mind, but also deep within the body. Clinicians using this integrative approach have reported meaningful results, especially in trauma healing, emotional regulation, and reconnecting clients with parts of themselves that feel shut down or overwhelmed.

Sometimes, healing requires more than just words. Psychotherapeutic Reiki is a gentle, integrative approach that combines the emotional clarity of talk therapy with the calming, regulating power of energy healing. Rooted in the Japanese practice of Reiki, this offering supports deep nervous system restoration, emotional release, and a return to inner balance.

Especially supportive for trauma, anxiety, burnout, and stuck emotional patterns, this modality invites your mind, body, and soul into the healing process together.

Reiki is a Japanese healing practice that channels universal life energy through gentle, hands-on or near-body touch to promote deep relaxation, energetic balance, and emotional restoration.

While not a traditional psychotherapy technique, Reiki can significantly enhance emotional regulation, reduce stress, and support somatic healing; especially when integrated with talk therapy.

Reiki has been found to significantly reduce stress and anxiety, both of which are common components in many mental health disorders. In a randomized controlled trial, Barnes et al. (2009) found that Reiki "resulted in significant reductions in anxiety and improvements in mood" after a single treatment session, suggesting a therapeutic effect on emotional distress.

Another study by Kawai et al. (2012) examined the effects of Reiki on patients with depression and found that Reiki sessions improved their sense of emotional well-being and reduced symptoms of depression. The study suggests Reiki could be beneficial when integrated into psychotherapeutic care for individuals with mental health conditions. Source: Kawai, T., Ohtsuki, T., & Yamamoto, T. (2012). Reiki can support emotional healing by facilitating the release of suppressed emotions. It encourages deep relaxation and emotional clarity, which can be beneficial for individuals suffering from trauma or PTSD.

"Reiki’s energy clearing aspect helps patients access repressed emotional states, creating a safe space for emotional processing that aids in trauma recovery." — Journal of Trauma & Dissociation.
